Manoj Malhotra joined the erstwhile
Thapar Group (now Avantha Group) in 2003
as Vice President - Strategy Planning and
Business Development in New Initiatives.
One of his key mandates was to identify
new avenues of growth in the IT & ITES
segment. Salient Business Solutions is the
first step towards that direction. Manoj
also brings with him over a dozen years of
relevant multinational consulting
experience in Corporate Finance, Strategy
Building and Investment Banking.
As the Chief Executive Officer of
Salient Business Solutions, the new foray
of the Avantha Group, Manoj leads a team
of young, like-minded professions who are
working together to make Salient one of
the leading BPO companies in India.
Prior to his joining the Avantha Group,
Manoj was with PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC)
as Associate Director for Investment
Banking (Technology - IT & BPO) in
India. At PWC, Manoj was responsible for
initiating the Technology Investment
Banking Group in India and was
instrumental in advising a host of IT
companies in cross-border acquisition and
investment opportunities in Europe and the
U.S.A. He was actively involved in
advising a number of large BPO companies
for acquisition/investment opportunities
in Europe and the U.S.A, and also led
consulting teams at PWC for strategizing
BPO sector entry/ consolidation plays for
large corporates and MNCs in India.
In another of his previous assignments,
Manoj helped set up private equity
syndication services and equity research
businesses at a leading Northern Indian
NBFC and for the merchant banking arm of
one of the largest Indian industrial
houses.
Manoj is a chartered accountant and a
cost accountant by qualification. He is a
history buff, loves spending time amidst
old forts and castles, and has a keen
interest in art.
